It’s a Journey

We have all been on a journey since we were first born or perhaps even earlier.

Along the way we learned what it meant to be male, the male role. We set expectations or they were set for us. Then, life happened.

It didn’t happen the way it was supposed to, the way I wanted it to. What had appeared to be virtually perfect growing up, wasn’t what my life turned out to be. I didn’t have the control. I didn’t have the power. Relationships went bad. Investments went sour. Work failed. I got downsized: laid off and / or fired. Worse yet I had to downsize others.

Happiness proved elusive. People got hurt.

I felt an emptiness inside a void no one could fill.

That’s when I realized I needed to return to the wholeness I had had at the beginning. A wholeness based on being happy not feeling happy. A wholeness based on reclaiming my innocence and then defending it against any and all temptation.

Whole, alive and happy again. Thanks to GreatGuys.
